Mediterranean Diet Proven to Lower Key Markers of Chronic Inflammation

This systematic review and meta-analysis of 33 randomized controlled trials, involving 3,476 participants, evaluated the Mediterranean diet's effect on inflammatory and oxidative stress biomarkers. Researchers found that adopting the diet led to significant reductions in high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and interleukin-17 (IL-17) compared to control diets.
